Junior School

By Mrs Howard (Year 6 Teacher)

On Thursday 14th March, Year 6 welcomed their counterparts from Bedford Prep School for an afternoon dedicated to e-safety.

There were four workshops that worked on a rotation – which kept everyone on their toes! From creating murals, to campaigns and drama workshops, the pupils went away with not just one, but many different ways to be safe online and ensure their own actions were the best kind.

It was great to hear how the pupils enjoy using technology and the positive ways in which they do so – they were very knowledgeable and demonstrated how much they already knew on the subject. Discussing online interactions and how to respond was really interesting for the students to explore in a safe space with people they didn’t know as well as their classmates. They really took on board different perspectives.

Isla (6C) said: “the activity day was fun with the boys because we got to interact – we didn’t know what they would be like.”

Aaleesha’s (6I) message from the day: “if you want to send a message, think first, what would your grandma say if it showed up on her TV?”
