Many congratulations to talented synchronised swimmer, Evie Isherwood (Year 5), who put in an impressive performance at the National Age Group Artistic swimming championships on Saturday 7th March.

This is the premier competition in England for young artistic swimmers (formerly known as synchronised swimming) and Evie had to pass Grades 1-3 in less than a year in order to qualify, which required many hours of training a week. Evie placed 40th out of 67 in the U12 figure competition, which ranked her in the top 10 for her age group in England. This is a very strong result competing against older swimmers with more experience.

Evie started artistic swimming in 2018 with Bedford Synchro Club, who train in BGS pool, moving to Aqualina Synchro Club in July last year. She won individual gold and bronze medals in the East Region 9-10yr old figure competitions last year and recently won a silver medal as part of the Aqualina U15 team at the East Region Combination Routine Competition in February, which was the first time she had swum a competition routine. She is looking forward to the Combo Cup in July, another National synchro competition where she will be swimming with her U15 Aqualina team again.

We are extremely proud of Evie’s achievements and look forward to following her promising artistic swimming career.
