It was fantastic to see BGS netball stars, Amelia Mead (Year 8) and Emma Adsley (Year 7) in both player and coaching capacity on Saturday 29th February.

Emma Adsley captained the MK Netters U12 netball team in the Southern finals of the ENG Sports National Netball Cup. She put in a strong performance against the top teams in the region, reaching the quarter final stage.

Amelia, who has been sponsored by ENG Sports since competing in the same competition last year, attended to help coach her younger club team. She was also invited to present the medals to the winners, giving a short speech to give the girls an insight into what her netball journey has been like over the past year, and imparting her advice to them for their journey onwards at nationals.

Amelia is currently vice captain of MK Dons who play in the South region Division 2, they are unbeaten this season in the league. On Thursday 5th March, MK Dons won their match against Brentwood Netball Club in the National Sisters in Sport Plate competition. Amelia was awarded opposition’s player in the win, with the MK Dons reaching the semi final stage.

Miss Huckle (Head of Netball) said: “It is great to see Emma, Amelia and other talented netballers compete to such a high level outside of school. We believe that the school creates an environment where players can truly thrive.”
