BGS once again achieved fantastic results before half term (Friday 26th and Saturday 27th May) at the National Schools Regatta at Dorney Lake.

On Friday two Year 10 quad crews rowed well, with the B crew winning the C final.

In the WJ15 4x+ 1 category Grace Batten, Megan Harris, Erin Knight, Sophie Parry and Ellie Simester came 10th out of 24 in the time trial and reached the A semi-final. They competed extremely well but were not quite strong enough to get into the finals.

In the WJ15 4x+ 2 category Maddie Mahoney, Alana Pillai, Hannah Tollman, Bella Trobe and Jessamie Warwick came 13th in the time trial from 24 entries. They narrowly missed out on a place to compete in the A/B semi-finals but went on to row brilliantly to win the C final.

Two crews of J14's also rowed well in challenging windy conditions. They really enjoyed their first experience at the regatta and will be back even stronger next year.

On Saturday in the WJ15 1st 8+ category Grace Batten, Alice Cooke, Megan Harris, Erin Knight, Maddie Mahoney, Sophie Parry, Alana Pillai, Ellie Simester and Jessamie Warwick won the B final, finishing 4th overall; an excellent achievement.

All the crews that took part enjoyed the experience, with some competing for the first time in the National Schools Regatta.
