We are extremely proud of Amelia Pask (Year 8), the Bedford Junior Blues Rugby star, who has gained acceptance into the EggChaser 7s academy.

After a successful trial at the Midlands South Regional Academy, the U14 Girls Junior Blues Captain will participate in a series of rugby 7s masterclasses working towards two tournaments later this year, organised by a professional coaching team.

The EggChaser 7s Academy stands as the UK's only professional rugby 7s academy, providing a direct pathway into professional sevens. Starting with the U13 age group, the academy allows players to progress through the system with the goal of representing the Lions and Lionesses at the senior level. Numerous Lions and Lionesses have gone on to represent their countries at some of the world's premier 7s events.

Amelia, alongside fellow BGS Year 8 student Amelia Fraser, joined the Bedford Junior Blues in Year 1, aged just six. Since then, they played in mixed teams until RFU rules stated that when they reached U12, they formed a female-only side. Their team comprises girls from the Junior Blues and Biggleswade Rugby Club and last weekend played a fantastic match against Bicester, with Amelia Fraser scoring and converting in the first half.

Reflecting on her selection, Amelia said “I am very excited for this opportunity and I am intrigued to learn more about 7's as a must faster paced game of rugby with higher levels of teamwork expected.”

Many congratulations, Amelia! We look forward to following your promising rugby career.
