On Monday (25th January), our A2 English Literature class celebrated the romantic poet, Robert Burns’ birthday.

Each member of our class read a verse from Burns’ poem, Address to Haggis, just before we tried some, accompanied with some tatties, which was a slight change from the usual slice of toast, or bowl of cereal for breakfast.

We all enjoyed hearing about Burns’ childhood, where the inspiration for his poetry came from and what kind of a character he was. It was a very active way of learning and we hope that we can do this again with other poets in the future.
