The BGS rowing team welcomed back Saturday sport with our own Indoor Rowing Championships. With all of our races and competitions cancelled this term this gave all of our rowers a goal to work towards and the students spent the last couple of weeks preparing hard towards their own individual race against the clock.

Racing in groups of six, students could view their ‘virtual race’ on the big screen. Every single student approached their race in an enthusiastic and professional manner, and across all year groups, we saw some fantastic performances.

Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in each year group, and every score contributed to an inter-house competition, in which Franklin were victorious.

It was brilliant to see the boat club back in a racing environment. It is definitely safe to say that the inaugural BGS Indoor Rowing Championships was a great success!
