Sixth Form Community

By Sienna Macfarlane (Upper Sixth)

Over the past few months, students from the Lower and Upper Sixth have met with Sixth Form students from Bedford School and have been working towards the first of three citizenship talks, this time delivered to the Fourth Form boys. This is the third year of successful collaborations between the two schools with each year bringing new ideas.

On Tuesday 21st November, we travelled up to Bedford School for a lovely breakfast and a final discussion regarding how we should approach the break out rooms with individual forms. Starting the morning, Zac and Charlie from Bedford School and me gave a presentation regarding online sexual harassment to the year group before sending them off into breakout rooms lead by a Sixth Form student from each school. Monitored by a teacher, they spoke to the boys and encouraged discussion on the handling of online harassment and informed them of the available support.

Overall, we are so proud of the students who showed competence in explaining complex information and bravery for presenting to new faces. Looking forward, we will start to plan a second session, here at BGS for our Year 9 students before everyone is back together for the last session in the Summer Term.
