Junior School Trips and Excursions

Last Thursday (1st February), Year 5 experienced a whistle-stop tour of London to enhance their learning of the Grand Designs, Unit of Enquiry. Starting with a flight on the London Eye, the girls enjoyed seeking out the buildings and landmarks they have been learning about in their lessons. The girls then enjoyed a tour of London before an evening performance of The Lion King.

Day two was just as busy, with a visit to the Museum of London, which tells the history of London from Roman times to modern day, to support the girls’ historical investigations. To finish the trip, the girls visited to the Aquarium to look at the lifecycles and different species of fish, to complement their work in Science before enjoying a final meal together and journey home.

Mrs Whomsley, Head of Year 5, commented: “The trip is a wonderful way for the girls to learn first-hand what makes London such a unique city. It follows a busy itinerary but is incredibly important for the girls to help them reflect on what they have learnt so far in such an active way.”
