Bedford Girls’ School has achieved its best ever GCSE results, with 65% of all entries achieving an A/A*.

Over a third of the year group recorded 9 A/A* or more, and a quarter of the year group earned 10 A*/A.

Headmistress of Bedford Girls’ School, Miss Jo MacKenzie, said: “These results demonstrate that through hard work, intelligent application and engaging teaching, great success can be achieved.

“We are extremely proud of the girls. The results are testament to a forward thinking education, which has encouraged the girls to work independently and question and inquire; developing skills that have ensured they are able to approach their examinations with confidence.

“We are look forward to the girls joining the Sixth Form, ready to flourish as they embark on their International Baccalaureate and A level studies.”
