A huge congratulations to Zoe K (Year 6), who recently took part in a world record performance celebrating Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form she has been learning for four years.
Zoe was selected to represent her dance school in an attempt to set the record for the longest Shiva-themed Bharatanatyam classical repertoire. She joined more than 1,000 dancers for an 18-minute performance celebrating Indian classical dance and culture.
Preparing for the event took considerable practice, especially to master some of the more challenging steps and sequences. Following the successful record attempt, Zoe received a medal and certificate recognising her participation.
Zoe said: “I felt really proud to be part of such a special event. Some of the Bharatanatyam steps were tricky to learn, so I was really pleased that all my hard work paid off.”
