By Mr Wade (Head of Year 8)
On Tuesday, Year 8 headed to Cople Fields with their teachers for an action-packed Wise Up ‘Hub Challenge’ teambuilding day.
Working in smaller tutor groups, students took on a wide variety of challenges designed to test their physical, mental and spatial skills, as well as their ability to communicate and work effectively as a team. Each challenge brought something different, and teams had to think carefully about how they would approach each task before putting their plans into action.
At the end of each challenge, teams received a score out of five based on key skills such as planning, teamwork and successfully completing the task. It was great to see students quickly recognising what made their teams successful, while also identifying moments when better organisation, communication or listening could have made a difference. The scores from each challenge were then combined to identify the three highest-scoring teams.
Most importantly, the day was full of smiles, laughter and plenty of encouragement as students supported one another through some particularly tricky challenges. We were also incredibly lucky with the weather, making Cople Fields the perfect setting for a brilliant day of teamwork, problem-solving and fun!
