Last weekend our U13A and U13B netball teams enjoyed an action-packed weekend at Condover Hall in Shropshire, combining competitive netball with exciting adventure activities and opportunities to learn from some of the sport’s top players.

The weekend began with the girls taking part in a range of adventure activities, including the high ropes and an aerial assault course, to encourage teamwork, resilience and plenty of courage. The girls thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones.

On Saturday, both teams got stuck into their tournament matches. The U13As had a strong day, winning three of their five matches and losing two, results which saw them qualify for the Cup competition on Sunday. The U13Bs also secured their place in the Cup after an impressive day, winning two and losing three of their matches. Among their highlights were excellent victories against City of London School and Francis Holland School.

The girls also had the fantastic opportunity to take part in player Q&A sessions with international netball stars Peace Proscovia and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Brie Grierson. The sessions gave the players the chance to hear about life as an elite netballer, ask questions and gain valuable insight and inspiration from two outstanding athletes.

Sunday saw both teams return to the court for the Cup competition. The U13As continued to play some excellent netball, recording impressive victories against Headington and St Helen’s School. They narrowly missed out on a place in the final by just two goals, but showed great determination and teamwork throughout the competition.

There were also some individual successes to celebrate, with Darcey S named U13A Player of the Tournament and Jess Neuff receiving the U13B Player of the Tournament award.
