Last week, we saw alumnae from our heritage schools have back-to-back get togethers.

It was an absolute delight to welcome so many women: celebrating their school days and many years of strong female friendships, whilst recognising over 140 years of educating women in Bedford.

On Friday (11th September) we hosted the Bedford High School Lunchtime Gathering at No. 7 Coffee House in Bedford. The event was held in the coffee shop’s lovely private room, providing the perfect setting to catch up with old friends and teachers to reminisce about school days over delicious sandwiches and the most amazing chocolate brownies!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Hannah Ayres (BHS 2012) for hosting at her coffee house, it was such a lovely occasion.  We are delighted to confirm that there will be another event at No.7 on Friday 7th May 2027.

Next up was the annual Dame Alice Harpur School Reunion (12th September), welcoming around 150 alumnae, including large groups from the classes of 1986 and 1974 for an afternoon tea and tours of the school led by our proud and enthusiastic tour guides. It was also a super opportunity for Chair of Governors, Fleur Bassett, and Headmistress, Gemma Gibson to meet the wider school community. Next year’s Dame Alice Harpur School Reunion will take place on Saturday 11th September 2027.

Friendship cups were well and truly filled for everyone who attended the events, with promises to meet again at the next one. For details of future alumnae events click here.
