On Thursday 10th September, our Year 10 students embarked on a thrilling three-day, two-night fun filled, adrenaline based, outdoor adventure residential to Edale.

Miss Gray (Head of Year 10 and 11) said: “Our Year 10 trip to Edale Activity Centre was a fantastic opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves and discover what they are capable of. Through shared experiences and new challenges, students developed confidence, formed new friendships and strengthened connections with their peers and staff. It was wonderful to see them supporting one another, embracing new experiences and creating memories that will stay with them long after the trip.”

Charlotte H (Year 10) reflected: “I really enjoyed the Year 10 Edale trip. This trip was particularly good because we were doing things the whole time and there was never a dull moment. All the activities were really good and I did enjoy all of them but I think my favourite activities were abseiling and canoeing. I also really enjoyed the caving as it pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and I really enjoyed it!

“The evening activities were also really fun, I loved problem solving and I also really enjoyed the evening hike as it was in the dark. I think that out of all the trips I have been on at BGS this was by far my favourite one. Also, it was really nice as I had many of my friends in my group and I was able to spend free time with all of my friends. When this trip was finished I wanted to do it again! I would definitely go on this trip again and I think this will be a highlight of Year 10 for me. I am really glad the year started with this trip!”

Kiara G (Year 10) added: “Edale was such an amazing experience because I got to do so many things that I had never done before. My favourite activity would definitely have been the weaselling because it was, at first, quite challenging but proved to be amazing as we crawled through all the tight gaps. It was really fun to be able to experience it all with my friends and a great way to start Year 10!”
