On Friday 4th September, we were delighted to welcome so many of our BGS Alumnae back to school for our annual Alumnae Netball and Hockey Matches, played in memory of much-loved alumna and former staff member Sarah Raven (née Fisher, BHS 2004 and PE teacher at DAHS & BGS).

It was a fabulous evening and wonderful to see so many familiar faces returning to BGS, whether pulling on their kit once again or supporting from the sidelines.

Making history this year, The Alumnae were victorious in BOTH matches, after two very energetic matches! The final score for the Netball was 12-8, with Gabby Asein (2021) awarded the Raven Cup, and Hockey 3-2, with Maddie Axford (2021) winning the Fisher Cup.

Mrs Mason-McLeod commented: "As Director of Sport, this is always one of the most heartwarming events in our calendar. It is about so much more than the results; it is an opportunity for our community to come together, reconnect and remember Sarah, who meant so much to BGS as both an alumna and member of staff. We are quite sure Sarah would have loved being part of that winning Alumnae team this year!. A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped make the evening so special, and particular congratulations to those Alumnae who somehow found the energy to feature in both matches!"
