International Baccalaureate

Saturday 5th July 2013 saw the first set of IB Diploma results for Bedford Girls’ School and we are delighted with the excellent outcomes.

With an overall points average of 34.3, Bedford Girls’ School is demonstrably higher than the international average. In addition, 42% of girls’ received A-B in Theory of Knowledge (ToK), compared with a global figure of 22% and all of the girls were awarded bonus points for the quality of their Extended Essay. Widely regarded by Admissions Tutors as the ideal preparation for Higher Education, ToK and the Extended Essay are core subjects of the IB diploma and are internationally renowned for cementing its reputation as a broader programme of study than A Levels that encourages students to think independently and to explore their creativity.

With our medics not just meeting but exceeding their offers and pupils taking up places at international universities, the IB is already opening doors to global success for our 2013 cohort.
