Our Junior School is a very special place, catering for girls from Years Three to Six (aged seven to 11). With their innate curiosity and enthusiasm, our girls enjoy days filled with friendship and adventure in an environment where learning is both exciting and fun.
We aim to develop the strengths of each girl by providing her with opportunities to stretch and challenge herself through all aspects of school life: from the academic to the social.
Our ethos of personal development is firmly underpinned by our strong and supportive pastoral care structure, which means our girls feel safe to try new things and understand that making mistakes is part of their learning journey. As she progresses through the Junior School each girl will grow in confidence, and learn to push her own boundaries yet further while developing a life-long passion for learning.
Based in Howard House, the Junior School is led by Carolyn Howe who oversees 14 Form Staff. There are three teaching assistants on hand to provide one-to-one academic support. In our curriculum we combine the finest elements of the National Curriculum with best practice and methodology from the state and independent sectors for the benefit of our bright and inquisitive girls. Our staff are well qualified to teach this age group and have a wide range of subject specialisms.
The Junior School has its own purpose built building and enjoys close links with the Senior School. Our pupils benefit from excellent resources, including the new music house, sports facilities and swimming pool, an art room, science room, ICT suite and two well-resourced libraries.
It is an exciting foundation for your daughter and the years she spends in the Junior School will be some of the most informative of her life.
