Bedford Girls’ School Sixth Form is proud to offer The International Baccalaureate, a challenging and well-rounded programme of study leading to an internationally recognised and well-respected award.
The IB has a reputation for being demanding but very rewarding. It offers a broader programme of study than A levels, and encourages students to think independently and to explore their creativity.
The IB will help you:
- explore what it is to learn
- ask challenging and thoughtful questions
- develop a sense of identity and culture
- develop the ability to communicate with people from different countries and cultures.
The International Baccalaureate is not simply an alternative qualification. It is an ethos about the type of society we might hope for in the future and how we can deliver this through a different approach to teaching and learning. It is centered on the development of the whole student – physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
We are one of 3,490 schools, in 144 countries, offering the International Baccalaureate. Unlike A Level, the curriculum is independent of government influence and is shared by 876,000 students all over the world.
