Parent Voice

Bedford Girls' School is an open and dynamic school and parents are very much a part of it. We actively encourage our parents to become involved in their daughter's education. Throughout the year we give parents opportunities to meet each other and members of the staff in a relaxed atmosphere at a number of social occasions and events making full use of the School's educational and cultural facilities.

Parent Elected Governor ("PEG") - Nominations Required

During the merger of Bedford High School for Girls and Dame Alice Harpur School, the first Bedford Girls’ School Committee contained the Parent Elected Governor from each of the Heritage Schools.

In June 2012, both Mrs Anne Pryer and Mrs Julie Craddock will reach the end of their terms as the Parent Elected Governors of Bedford Girls’ School. Mrs Craddock and Mrs Pryer have worked incredibly hard against the fast-paced background of the merger and their input and support have been invaluable to the School for which we are extremely grateful.   However, neither Mrs Pryer nor Mrs Craddock have chosen to stand for re-election.

I am therefore invite nominations to fill the vacancy from those entitled to participate in the nomination of a Parent Elected Governor which must be returned to the Bursar by noon on 24th May 2012. The nominee may be a parent but need not be so. Members of staff are not eligible to serve as School Governors.

The attached documents should answer most questions, but if you still have questions, please contact the Bursar, Mr Jean-Marc Hodgkin, on 01234 361900 or e-mail at bursar@bedfordgirlsschool.co.uk

The Bedford Girls' experience isn't just for the pupils and we look forward to getting to know you soon!
