We consider it important that pupils have a voice about their school and its development. We have thriving School Councils in the Junior and Senior Schools; these groups are made up of representatives from each year group with every form electing a representative to serve on the School Council for the year. Meetings take place at least once every half term and the girls bring forward suggestions from their forms to the meeting which are duly discussed by all members. Their decisions have informed and directed some of Bedford Girls’ School thinking, in particular in terms of our new values system and our Houses’ names. School Council will play a significant part too in developing our anti-bullying policy and practice in school.
